Roger Harrington
Roger Harrington's initiation into bushcraft came at an early age due to his family's involvement with the Scout movement. Since those early years he's had plenty of opportunity to practice and hone his skills. Roger has travelled extensively learning from bushcraft instructors and indigenous people world-wide. His passion for crafts related to the wilderness has led him to become a successful custom knife maker, combining this with instructing bushcraft he trades under the name Bison Bushcraft. With the growth of interest in Bushcraft and Wilderness Skills in The UK, Roger had the idea to facilitate a gathering of all those involved in or interested in bushcraft. He aims to raise the awareness of bushcraft, create a "community" of bushcraft people who can exchange ideas and information breaking down any barriers that may exist in the bushcraft world.
Dominic Harvey
For the first nine years of his life, Dominic, was bought up in the African bush in Uganda six miles from the nearest town, much of his early childhood spent playing and learning from the indigenous people. His interest for all things outdoor led him to join the Scout movement immediately upon his return to the UK and he soon developed a passion for anything to do with the mountains especially skiing and climbing.
After his college years he became an accomplished craftsman - potter, artist, web designer and earned a living as a cabinetmaker for 20 years. He now leads a very full and active life managing a residential Spa Retreat and Wellness Centre. He served a five year apprenticeship with a Gavilan Apache from whom he learnt many native skills and through these experiences Gone Native was born which promotes the dissemination of wilderness living and bushcraft skills and customs through outdoor events and its online information centre.
